Arizona Biltmore Luxury Estates, Homes, Patio Homes, Townhouses, and Condos for Sale
Luxury Homes, Patio Homes, Townhouses, and Condos for Sale in the Arizona Biltmore | Phoenix, AZ | 85016
The Biltmore area is famous for its luxurious Phoenix homes as well as its world-class shopping and dining. The Biltmore Estates make up a small, exclusive area from Camelback to Lincoln and 24th to 32nd Streets — the foot of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. If you're looking for Phoenix homes, it doesn't get much nicer than this.
Phoenix homes in Biltmore are predominantly 1920s and '30s Spanish Colonial Revivals with the arches, fountained courtyards, adobe walls, and brightly colored tile roofs that give the Biltmore area a hint of the Mediterranean. Many properties feature fireplaces, expansive rooms, and guest houses. No overgrown lawns or perpetual yard-sales here; Biltmore residents take pride in their gorgeous, well-manicured properties, especially those along the coveted "Biltmore Circle." Other types of homes include lavish condominiums, and for the die-hard golf enthusiast, patio homes conveniently adjacent to the resort's two 18-hole PGA courses. Two-bedroom patio homes may be found for $400,000 to $500,000, while four-bedrooms generally start in the mid $700,000's . The median home value is around $700,000, though many do exceed $2 million.
Topping a $300-per-square-foot average, these Phoenix homes are some of the most exclusive for sale anywhere. Most are at least three bedrooms, at about $300,000 to $500,000, with executive homes (at least 4,000 square feet) reaching upwards of $4 million.
The Biltmore area's population is about 2,500 with a median age of 54 years, and a median household income of $87,000.
High-end Amenities
The Biltmore area gets its name from the Arizona Biltmore Resort, a national and international destination for those who love to live the good life. Once owned and operated by the Wrigley family of chewing gum fame, the Biltmore was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and bears his unmistakable influence. Now a part of the exclusive Waldorf-Astoria Collection, the Resort is located at 24th Street and Missouri on 39 acres of beautifully kept lawns, gardens, and pools.
The Biltmore was voted by Phoenix residents as one of the Phoenix Points of Pride, 30 landmarks and attractions that "represent the best features of the city for both residents and visitors." Though the list of famous guests is too long to record here, a few highlights include: every sitting president since 1929; honeymooners Ronald and Nancy Reagan; and Irving Berlin, who dreamed of a white Christmas — and wrote the words to his famous holiday classic — sitting at one of the resort's eight beautiful swimming pools.
The Resort offers a full spa, four restaurants, shopping, swimming, and a shuttle service to the Biltmore Fashion park with more high-end shopping the likes of Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, and Cartier, and plenty of great restaurants. Across the street from the Biltmore, and now connected by a pedestrian tunnel, the Esplanade extends the shopping/dining choices, and offers 14 screens of AMC movie entertainment. Try Houston's for a great steak, Steamers for seafood, and the Merc Bar for an elegant cocktail in a quiet, graceful atmosphere.
A Quality Outdoors Experience
Hikers and joggers enjoy lovely views in the Biltmore area whether they're running along the bank of the canal or climbing Camelback Mountain just to the east, or Payestewa Peak (formerly Squaw Peak), just a skip and a jump to the west. Both offer strenuous "mile plus" hikes with 360-degree views of the city and the gorgeous Sonoran Desert landscape.
